Wow! This package certainly makes a grand impression. And just the book itself with the gold and pink. It’s so delicate like sweet peas. Such careful detail here.

Are you familiar with these sweet flowers? I wasn’t and am falling in love!

Sally, what an exquisite box and so ingenious and cleverly crafted and thought out!

I do grow peas and this spring I will be getting right up close and personal to the plant to distinguish its aroma in the midst of my extensive garden. Brilliant book concept!

Sally, whenever there's an announcement of you doing a podcast or a video, I'm right there because as the cliché goes, I would listen to you read the dictionary (actually, nerd that I am, I would enjoy that). And now another new thing I'm learning from you — a PR box. This is very beautiful and ingenious, but wouldn't a box like this cost at least $100 to put together and ship? How many does the author make and send, and to what kinds of people? Media? Influencers on IG or TikTok? I'm assuming it's the author who is responsible for the cost?

You’re the sweetest Nava!

It really depends on the book and publisher. Sometimes the publisher packs and ships all the boxes. And takes on the cost. Often items are donated as part of a tour/marketing sponsorship. In this case Marryn curated and shipped all the boxes because so much was coming from other merch she sells in her store through her online business.

Who are these boxes meant for, and on average, how many are sent out?

They are going to media, sales accounts, and "influencers" and I actually don't know the total number. Often campaigns are between 25-150 depending on the book and level of interest. For example, Joanna Gaines got one of these boxes as is Ina Garten (who loves sweet peas!)

Sally, one more question, do you know who manufacturers/prints these types of boxes, or even what they are called? The printing on the inside is what give it that extra something. I could use something like this for an art project I'm working on (and maybe down the road for my new books!).

Never mind! I searched for "custom printed boxes no minimum " and got lots of results. One company I use for postcards and business cards makes them and they're much less expensive than I had thought. Your video really kick-started a bunch of ideas ...

Oh yay!! I’m also happy to connect you with Marryn to discuss if that’s helpful!

So many fun goodies in the box, I almost forgot there was a book in there! And what a gorgeous book. And I love that you donate broken ceramics!

There’s a super talented Mosaic artist local to me so it feels so much easier to not cry about broken things! I had another client send me a handmade mug that didn’t make it through the mail. I was so sad it broke but I knew it wouldn’t be wasted!
